The ultimate aim of the two-day meeting was to work withthe nearby town of Didim and Kos in the tourism sector and the construction sector. More specifically, the two sides are looking for ways to harness the boom, that the area of reconstruction, food and shopping has.
Regarding the tourism sector, which employs the largest number of employees in our island, the proposals discussed were the student and historical tourism. The student Tourism is a promising sector with excellent benefits and contribution to the travel and tourism industry. The Student Tourism in recent years is growing, as it is estimated that students and younger travelers are generally more than 20% of international tourists.
Regarding the historical tourism, Greece and the island of Kos hide pieces of history that can bring together tourists with the manners, customs, tradition and history. Kos can provide wealth of experience, taking advantage of the diversity of its landscapes, natural resources, cultural and historical richness, with tradition, manners and customs.
THE JOURNEY
The mission of Kos started at Friday morning from the harbor, bound for the nearby coast. The welcoming given by Turkish representatives of the Municipality of Didim, the Turkish Chamber and local people were excellent. From the first minute of arrival until the last minute of departure, the hospitality was excellent. The welcoing included elements of tradition and culture, with traditional performances and local products, integrating directly into the purpose of the meeting.
Our mission was carrying olive trees as a sign of friendship and twinning of the two cities. Which were then planted in the yard of the Municipality of Didim.
Then the Turkey's representatives brought us into contact with the culture and tradition, as they had organized festival with their local products and we were toured to the monuments, archaeological sites, the local theaters, and to the Marina, which hosts  more than 1500 vessels.
After the tour, we went to the building of the Chamber for the debate. We discussed for future cooperation and action, and for the ways we can enlarge operation and collaboration between the two countries. By the end of the debate, the two Presidents of Chambers exchanged commemorative plaques and gifts.

The meeting ended nice and warm with a nice dinner at Meandros Village, where we tasted the oriental kitchen and meet the Turkish gastronomy.

On Sunday morning the mission left for Kos island, with rich experience, new business ideas, alternative proposals for promotion of local products and satisfaction with the progress of the discussions. Such efforts need total loyalty and pave the way for practical, new business activities!
