Ingredients:
1 kilo of mince meat (beef)
2 packs of pasta (long tubular No 3)
2 onions
½ kilo kefalotyri cheese grated
2 tablespoons of tomato sauce
2 ltr of milk
12 tablespoons of flour
2 eggs
6 tablespoons of fresh butter
Nutmeg, salt, pepper
Bread crumbs
Preparation:
In a saucepan cook the finely chopped onion. Then add the mince meat, salt and pepper and the tomato sauce. Let them cook until the meat has dried out. In another pan boil the pasta and using a colander make sure they are dry. Butter a pan and place one layer of pasta and sprinkle some cheese. Repeat again, a layer of mince meat and a layer of pasta.
Béchamel sauce:
Heat the milk in a saucepan. In a different saucepan melt 4 tablespoons of butter and then add the flour. Stir until the flour starts to color. Pour hot milk and stir thoroughly to keep it creamy. As soon as the mixture sets add the eggs and stir adding the rest of the cheese and the nutmeg. Pour the béchamel sauce on the mince and pasta layers, add 2 tablespoons of butter and spread on top. Sprinkle bread crumbs and bake at 200ο C.
