Die griechische Insel Kos liegt in der südöstlichen Ägäis, südlich von Kalimnos und nördlich von Nisiros am alten Keramiko Golf (Kerme Körfezi) und ist gerade einmal 3 Seemeilen von der kleinasiatischen Küste entfernt. Die wunderschöne Insel Kos ist die drittgrößte der Dodekanen Inselgruppe (“Dodecanese”bedeutet aus dem griechischen “zwölf Inseln”) und hat eine Gesamtfläche von 290,29 km².
