Walnut Cake “Karidopita”

Walnut Cake “Karidopita” Ingredients:
6 eggs
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of bread crumbs
1 ½ teaspoon of baking powder
2 teaspoons cinnamon
¼ teaspoon cloves
1 ½ cup of walnuts or almonds (ground)
For the syrup:
2 cups of sugar
2 cups of water
1 teaspoon glucose (grape sugar) or lemon juice
3 spoonfuls of cognac
Preparation:
Beat the eggs with the sugar. In the meantime mix the bread crumbs with the baking powder and all the herbs. Pour the mixture little by little in the baking powder and herb mix. Then slowly add the walnuts. Pour the mixture on a buttered baking pan. Pour the syrup once it’s out the oven with a spoon. As soon as it has cooled down decorate with some powder sugar.
