“Katimeria” Dessert

“Katimeria” DessertIngredients for the pastry:
250 gr. of butter (melted)
1 egg
1 glass of milk (lukewarm)
½ glass of water (lukewarm)
1 teaspoon of salt
A pinch of masticha
1 kilo of flour (alatini)
1 pack of baking powder
Seed oil for frying
Ingredients for the stuffing:
½ kilo of anthotyro cheese
250 gr. of feta cheese
1 egg, Nutmeg and pepper
In a large bowl mix the butter, the milk, the egg (whipped) and warm water and stir. Add the salt and the masticha and slowly towards the end add the flour. Knead the mix well until it takes a nice smooth form. Separate the dough in small balls and cover with a towel. Prepare the stuffing by mixing all the ingredients together. Use a rolling pin to spread the dough on a floured surface, and make sheets. Cut each sheet into squares (depending on the desired design) and spread half a spoonful of the stuffing in the middle and then twist the dough and close. Fry them in hot oil.
