Tigaki is 11 kilometres from Kos town 7 kilometres north of Asfendiou village and it counts some 250 permanent residents. It is a holiday resort that has been developed during the last decades along the homonymous long sandy beach of the northern coast of the island in a green valley. Years ago the place used to be the favourite holiday resort of the locals. Impressive and calm the environment at Tiggaki with plants and green all around and many flowers which add up their colours to this exciting landscape. The many alternatives for accommodation next to the beach of the settlement and in the broader area in a nice natural or artificial environment, very peaceful without excess noise and crowds made Tiggaki one of the most popular destinations of the island. The food is good starting from fresh fish in the taverns of the area and ending at the local or European cuisine and if you want something faster there are a lot of snack bars and fast foods that will keep you till the night. The sea at Tiggaki is very shallow and makes the beach with white sand ideal for families with small children and those that they are not such a good swimmers. The fanatics of windsurfing will adore this place, as they will enjoy very much the big waves of the open sea and if you don’t know windsurfing, but

Like visiting the biotope of Alikes and close by, from 2 up to 7-8 kilometres you will find many little settlements with lots of interesting thinks to see (Zipari, Asfendiou, Pili, Palio Pili). Access from Kos town is easy (11 kilometres) by public bus, with very frequent service, almost every hour, by taxi, by car, by motorbike and also by bicycle since distance from Kos town is small.
